Job Summary
Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support equipment reliability, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives within mining operations.

This role focuses on analyzing equipment performance, supporting maintenance strategies, and improving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Assist in implementing corrective actions and solutions
  • Analyze equipment performance and downtime issues
  • Evaluate equipment and processes for improvement opportunities
  • Monitor and report equipment performance KPIs
  • Analyze CMMS data for equipment health indicators
  • Support maintenance and reliability initiatives

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate technical data and draw conclusions
  • Understanding of safety practices and industrial environments
  • Strong communication skills

Additional Experience May Include

  • Experience in mining or industrial environments
  • Experience with CMMS systems
  • Exposure to maintenance or reliability engineering
