Job Summary
SSR Mining is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to design, implement, and optimize network and infrastructure systems supporting mining operations across corporate offices, processing facilities, and remote mine sites.
This role focuses on building secure, resilient, and scalable IT/OT environments critical for modern mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain enterprise network and infrastructure architecture
- Develop high-availability network solutions (LAN/WAN/MPLS/SD-WAN/VPN)
- Support IT/OT integration and secure network segmentation (DMZ)
- Manage server, storage, and virtualization environments
- Lead infrastructure modernization and cloud/hybrid deployments
- Ensure cybersecurity compliance (ISO 27001, NIST)
- Provide architectural support for major IT and mining infrastructure projects
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and network issues
- Manage vendors and telecom providers for remote connectivity
- Define global infrastructure standards and lifecycle management
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and network architecture
- Experience in mining, oil & gas, or industrial environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
- Experience with SD-WAN, VPN, MPLS, and remote site connectivity
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
- Understanding of IT/OT environments and industrial cybersecurity
- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
Additional Experience May Include
- Experience with industrial network segmentation and DMZ architectures
- Experience supporting remote and distributed mining operations
- Exposure to infrastructure resilience and redundancy systems
