Job Summary
Komatsu is seeking a General Assembly I – Hard Rock to support hard rock mining product assembly at its Longview, Texas facility. This role supports the final assembly of rugged mining products by assembling electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components while following safety, quality, documentation, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold and promote a culture of safety while complying with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepare workstations by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprints, specifications, and parts lists.
  • Assemble electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components using layouts, templates, and measurements.
  • Perform routine assembly assignments under close supervision while learning advanced assembly techniques.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on assembly equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
  • Complete production and quality control documentation to support traceability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to identify process improvement and quality enhancement opportunities.
  • Adapt to variable workloads, including potential overtime and weekend assignments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to accurately use tape measures and other measuring tools.
  • Fundamental knowledge of hand tools and safe tool usage.
  • Moderate experience with blueprint reading.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and execute repetitive procedures consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams.
  • Effective communication skills in a manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work additional hours, including overtime and weekend shifts, when necessary.
  • Must successfully complete required pre-employment screenings, including background check, physical examination, and drug testing.

Physical Requirements

  • Medium physical demands, including occasional lifting of 21 to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent lifting of 11 to 25 pounds.
  • Constant handling of lighter components.
  • Must be able to stand for more than two-thirds of the work shift.
  • Must be able to work in a physically engaging manufacturing environment.
