Job Summary
Hecla Mining Company is seeking an Exploration Geologist (I, II or III) to support exploration programs across near-mine, district, and regional projects.
This role focuses on geological mapping, sampling, drilling support, and data interpretation to advance mineral discovery and resource development.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and drill core logging
- Support planning and execution of exploration and drilling programs
- Generate and interpret geological models and maps
- Analyze geological data and support target generation
- Develop cross-sections and 3D geological models
- Collaborate with technical teams and contractors
- Contribute to resource models and technical reports
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Geology (Master’s preferred)
- Experience in exploration or mining environments
- Proficiency with geological software (e.g., Vulcan, Leapfrog, ArcGIS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in remote field environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Additional Experience May Include
- Experience with epithermal or similar deposit types
- Experience supporting NI 43-101 resource reporting
- Experience in drilling programs and geological modeling
