Job Summary
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Exploration Geologist to support mineral exploration programs across its Nevada operations. This role involves geological mapping, sampling, data analysis, and supporting drilling campaigns to identify and evaluate mineral resources.

You will work closely with exploration teams to develop geological models, interpret data, and contribute to decision-making processes that guide exploration strategies and resource development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and data compilation
  • Support and supervise drilling programs, including RC and core logging
  • Perform geological interpretation and 3D modeling
  • Assist in the development of exploration plans and budgets
  • Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed
  • Prepare progress reports and communicate key findings
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary exploration teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field required
  • 1–8 years of experience in mining or mineral exploration preferred
  • Strong understanding of geological fundamentals and exploration methods
  • Experience with 3D geological modeling tools such as Leapfrog (preferred)
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS and Microsoft Office (preferred)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Additional experience may be considered for more advanced roles:

  • Experience leading exploration programs or drill campaigns
  • Advanced geological modeling and data interpretation
  • Budgeting and project coordination experience
