Job Summary
Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Driller I to support drilling operations in mining activities, ensuring accurate blast hole drilling and safe equipment operation.

This role focuses on operating drilling equipment, maintaining drilling quality, and supporting production activities in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate drilling equipment for blast hole production
  • Drill holes to proper depth and ensure accurate collaring
  • Inspect and monitor drill equipment performance
  • Identify and report mechanical issues
  • Perform pre-shift inspections and basic maintenance
  • Assist with drill setup, bit changes, and pipe handling
  • Communicate with blasting crews and operations teams
  • Operate additional mobile equipment as required
  • Follow safety procedures and operational protocols

Qualifications
– Minimum 6 months of mobile equipment operating experience

  • Basic knowledge of drilling operations and equipment
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a mining or industrial environment

Additional Experience May Include

  • Experience operating manual or automated drills
  • Experience in open pit mining environments
  • Familiarity with blasting operations
