Job Summary
AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Director, Project Engineering to lead the planning, design, and execution of large-scale mining projects.

This role provides strategic and technical leadership across multiple sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead capital projects from concept through feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning
  • Oversee engineering teams and manage EPCM contractors, consultants, and vendors
  • Identify and mitigate technical and project risks
  • Integrate engineering with project controls, procurement, and construction activities
  • Manage CAPEX planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices and project delivery
  • Support permitting, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to align engineering with business strategy

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Mining, or related)
– 10–15 years of experience in engineering and project management

Additional Experience May Include

  • Master’s degree (MBA or Engineering)
  • Professional Engineer (PE/P.Eng.) certification
  • Experience with EPCM projects and Owners Team environments
  • Strong knowledge of mining infrastructure, processing, and tailings
  • Expertise in cost estimation, scheduling, and project controls
