Job Summary
Perpetua Resources is seeking a Director of Mining to lead the strategic, operational, and technical direction of all mining activities across the Stibnite Gold Project.

This role provides executive leadership across mine planning, production, safety, cost control, and regulatory compliance, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives and value creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute mining strategy aligned with corporate goals and production targets
  • Provide executive oversight of mining operations including open pit and/or underground
  • Ensure achievement of production, cost, and performance KPIs
  • Lead mine planning, scheduling, and life-of-mine optimization
  • Oversee safety systems, risk management, and environmental compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
  • Support feasibility studies, expansions, and new project development
  • Manage operating and capital budgets, forecasting, and cost control
  • Evaluate trade-offs between cost, capital investment, and long-term value
  • Lead and mentor mine managers, engineers, and technical teams
  • Define organizational structures and support talent development
  • Collaborate with geology, processing, finance, and supply chain teams
  • Engage with regulators, stakeholders, and external partners
  • Represent mining operations in executive and board-level discussions

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline

  • 15–20+ years of experience in mining operations and leadership roles
  • Proven experience in senior leadership positions (Mine Manager, GM, Head of Mining, etc.)
  • Strong experience in both open pit and underground mining environments
  • Deep understanding of mine planning, production, and operational optimization
  • Strong financial and business acumen

Additional Experience May Include

  • Professional Engineer (PE / P.Eng) certification
  • Experience in capital projects, expansions, and operational transformation
  • Experience with modern mining technologies, automation, and digital systems
