Job Summary
Perpetua Resources is seeking a Director of Metallurgy to lead the strategic, technical, and operational direction of metallurgical and mineral processing activities for the Stibnite Gold Project.

This role ensures metallurgical processes are optimized to maximize recovery, throughput, and product quality while maintaining safety, environmental compliance, and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute metallurgical strategy aligned with corporate objectives
  • Provide technical governance and leadership across processing operations
  • Oversee metallurgical performance including comminution, flotation, POX, leaching, and refining
  • Drive continuous improvement in recovery, throughput, and cost efficiency
  • Lead development of ore blending strategies and geo-metallurgical models
  • Manage metallurgical and process engineering work from consultants
  • Ensure accuracy of metallurgical accounting, testwork, and performance reporting
  • Support plant troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and optimization initiatives
  • Lead metallurgical input for project development stages (PFS, FS, commissioning)
  • Review process design criteria, flowsheets, and equipment selection
  • Oversee metallurgical testwork programs and pilot plant activities
  • Evaluate emerging processing technologies and innovation opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and ESG standards
  • Lead and mentor metallurgical and process engineering teams
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives
  • Provide technical input for M&A, due diligence, and strategic investments
  • Engage with regulators, stakeholders, and external technical partners

Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline

  • 15–20+ years of experience in metallurgy and mineral processing
  • Strong experience in gold processing operations (POX experience preferred)
  • Proven leadership experience across operations and project development
  • Deep understanding of metallurgical flowsheets, testwork, and plant optimization
  • Strong financial and business acumen

Additional Experience May Include

  • Professional Engineer (PE / P.Eng) certification
  • Experience with metallurgical accounting, mass balance, and plant performance systems
  • Experience with tailings management, water balance, and sustainability initiatives
  • Experience with digital mining technologies and process optimization tools
