Job Summary
Intrepid Potash is seeking a Director of Health and Safety to lead enterprise-wide safety strategy, compliance, and performance across all operating sites.

This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving safety systems to protect employees, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of enterprise-wide health and safety programs and systems
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (MSHA, OSHA, DOT, ATF) and internal standards
  • Design and implement standardized safety protocols and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct audits and partner with operations to implement corrective actions
  • Promote a strong safety culture through leadership engagement and communication
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and operational teams to identify and manage risks
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and emergency response support
  • Oversee safety training programs, including onboarding and ongoing compliance training
  • Provide executive-level safety reporting and performance insights
  • Maintain accurate and compliant safety documentation and records

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
– 10–15 years of experience in safety, compliance, or operations roles
– Strong knowledge of federal and state safety regulations

Additional Experience May Include

  • Mining industry experience
  • Experience with safety management systems and audits
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder influence skills
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation capabilities
