Job Summary
Komatsu is seeking a Design Engineer to support Hensley Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Komatsu North America focused on construction and mining markets. This role is responsible for creating and revising 3D models and engineering drawings, supporting new product development, testing prototypes, assisting with first article inspections, and providing technical support for manufacturing, quality, and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and create 3D models and engineering drawings for new products.
• Revise 3D models and engineering drawings for existing products.
• Research, develop new concepts, and test prototypes.
• Assist with first article sample inspections, corrections, and change requests.
• Assist in resolving product-related customer complaints.
• Provide technical data to quality control, quality assurance, and sales teams.
• Support manufacturing with rework reduction and control.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• Two or more years of recent experience in 3D design, solid modeling, and assemblies using Creo Parametric.
• Two or more years of recent experience creating 2D component and assembly drawings using Creo Parametric.
• Experience with surface modeling using Creo Parametric preferred.
• One or more years of recent experience with finite element analysis using Creo Simulate or Ansys preferred.
• One or more years of experience in basic design engineering calculations and tolerance stack-up studies.
• One or more years of experience with Product Lifecycle Management software, including Windchill, preferred.
• Experience with new product development and revising existing products.
• Experience with construction and mining equipment wear parts is a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing, including steel casting and machining, is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to present technical data clearly.
• Ability to complete assignments within due dates.
• Ability to travel within the United States and internationally on occasion.
