Job Summary
Intrepid Potash is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to join its legal team in Denver, Colorado.

This role serves as a trusted legal advisor and strategic business partner to executive leadership, supporting corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, governance, SEC compliance, commercial contracting, dispute avoidance, litigation risk, and enterprise-wide legal initiatives for a growing public company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead legal advisor on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic investments, and other corporate development initiatives
  • Coordinate and oversee legal due diligence activities, transaction execution, regulatory filings, and post-closing integration activities
  • Provide practical legal counsel on contract interpretation, dispute avoidance, risk allocation, and commercial negotiations
  • Support SEC reporting obligations, securities law compliance, disclosure controls, and public company governance activities
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop policies, procedures, and contract management practices
  • Help improve operational efficiency while managing legal risk across the enterprise
  • Advise business leaders on litigation risk and dispute resolution
  • Oversee outside counsel and support litigation strategy for commercial disputes
  • Work closely with executive leadership to support strategic growth initiatives

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar required
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible legal experience
  • Significant experience advising on mergers and acquisitions and sophisticated corporate transactions
  • Litigation experience, including managing commercial disputes and overseeing outside counsel
  • Experience developing litigation strategy and advising business leaders on litigation risk and dispute resolution
  • Familiarity with natural resources, mining, agriculture, manufacturing, industrial operations, water rights, energy, or infrastructure industries
  • Strong ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal counsel
  • Ability to work closely with business leaders and influence strategic decision-making
  • Strong judgment, communication, negotiation, and risk management skills
